Nord Academic is a dedicated and ambitious force in the world of academic publishing. We specialize in sharing Danish and Nordic research of the highest caliber across all disciplines, publishing in both national languages and English. With a commitment to advancing knowledge, we ensure that research reaches diverse audiences globally.
Nord Academic was founded with the mission to promote outstanding research dissemination and to foster an open and international dialogue among scholars. Our goals are to make researchers' insights and expertise widely accessible and visible, and to inspire and engage both academic peers and the general public.
Nord Academic believes that knowledge deserves the utmost care and the highest standards of presentation. It should be rigorously reviewed, thoughtfully presented, and widely shared to encourage meaningful use and discussion.
Nord Academic is a new venture, established in December 2021, however, our legacy runs deep. We are proudly owned by G.E.C. Gads Fond and are part of the rich heritage of Gads Forlag, one of Denmark's oldest and most respected publishers. Since 1855, Gads Forlag has been a cornerstone of Danish publishing, distributing both fiction and non-fiction for readers of all ages. It is also renowned for producing Kraks Blå Bog, Denmark's most frequently cited reference work. Building on this tradition of excellence, we continue to champion impactful books that shape understanding and drives progress.
Scientific Council
At Nord Academic, our commitment to promoting and disseminating excellent research is matched by a strong emphasis on professionalism—both in our publications and in our strategic endeavors. To ensure the highest standards, we collaborate with skilled and inspiring individuals whose expertise, insights, and experience play an important role in shaping our work and refining the publisher's academic profile and purpose.
Members of our Scientific Council meet with us twice a year and are elected by a co-optation process. All Council contributions are made on a voluntary basis.
