Vi tilbyder derfor en redaktionel proces, der omfatter rådgivning og støtte i udarbejdelsen af manuskriptet fra idé til blåkopi. Vi hjælper også med funding, billedsøgning og rettigheder, ligesom vi står for salg, markedsføring og presse, også uden for landets grænser.

Publish your book with us
At Nord Academic, we strive for professionalism and quality from ourselves and our authors. We are committed to the highest scientific quality and look forward to collaborating with you, whether your book is on the drawing board or already in progress.
It can take from months to years to publish a book (but doesn’t have to), and there are several milestones to pass along the way. Overall, the publishing process is the same for all books:
1. Submit your proposal
As an author, you submit your manuscript, or you propose an idea for a book project, which we discuss and evaluate together. We will also contact you if we have an idea for a project we would like to develop with you.
2. Peer review
If we initially approve of your manuscript and see a market for the book, we send your work to an external peer reviewer for an early and thorough professional assessment of its scientific quality, its contribution to new knowledge and development of the field. Ensuring academic quality and validity is at the heart of our work, and all manuscripts undergo peer review.
It is crucial that you, as a writer, are prepared to adjust your manuscript and incorporate the comments and suggestions of the reviewer. Your editor will help you find out how best to accommodate the peer review.
3. Approval and contract
After peer review and your editing based on the reviewer's comments, Nord Academic will formally accept your manuscript. We draw up a contract, and together we begin the process of obtaining the necessary funding for the production of the book.
4. Editorial process
Once you have resubmitted your manuscript after the peer review, your editor will read your manuscript and help you edit your manuscript so it best suits your reader. In particular, your editor will look at the flow of the language, the coherence of your arguments and the clarity of your ideas. You and your editor work closely together on how to sharpen your language, style and tone.
5. Production
Once the manuscript is finished, it is proofread and typeset by one of our many external partners, and we go through several proofs to make sure that everything appears as it should. We help each other prepare indexes and clear any remaining rights before the book and the book's cover are sent to print.

6. Marketing, sales and press
We care that your book gets the marketing and press needed. We send information about the book to retailers and university libraries before publication, and your book is part of Gads Forlag's sales journey to numerous Danish bookshops. After publication, we will also inform the booksellers if your book receives extraordinarily good press coverage. We make sure that the book is available in Danish libraries and through our foreign distributor at research libraries all over the world.
When your book is printed, we send it to key people in the professional fields and to selected journalists and others with a special interest in the subject. Your book is presented at Nord Academic's website and on Gad.dk, we promote it on our social media sites – Facebook and LinkedIn – and include it in our newsletter.
In addition to this, we pitch your book to partners such as Bogforum, Historiske Dage and Historien Lever in Aarhus. Nord Academic is present at these shows with Gads Forlag.
You and the Press work together to produce your book, and we also work together to reach your audience. We encourage you to get involved in marketing and let your network know of your book. Shares, links, comments, and retweets are a great way to maximize your book's visibility. We support your SoMe activities with graphic material.
7. Publication
It's a day of celebration when your book is published, and it’s the culmination of years of research and work. As of this day, your book is available on our website and at the bookshops. We will continue to promote your book even after its publication.
